Baby Ella, The Jesus Patch, and 4th of July Weekend Happenings

Baby Ella

The first great thing that happened this weekend is that our friends Eric and Christine finally had their baby on Thursday afternoon!

We got to go visit her on Friday afternoon after a quick lunch with Jamie's Dad and Cynthia at Wan Fu, our favorite Chinese place. Three of Ella's four big brothers and her big sister were all at the hospital visiting their mom and new baby sister, so it was a really exciting visit.

Ella is a lucky baby; she is very pretty with lots of black hair, and a big family to help take care of her.

I even held her, which is something that a lot of babies can't say.

New Patio Furniture

Friday afternoon, Jamie brought home new patio chairs!

We bought the table a few weeks ago at a great discount when the Ashley Warehouse in Kirkwood had a clearance sale because they're moving.

They're pretty wet in the picture because it rained last night (naturally, since I watered the grass yesterday).

We can't wait to have a cookout and use them when it get a little bit cooler...

Live on the Levee and Fireworks

Last night we went to Live on the Levee to see the Counting Crows, and the St. Louis Fireworks with friends.

It was really fun! The Counting Crows were good, and it's been years since I've been to a big fireworks show, and I had forgotten how cool they are.

The weather was perfect, aside from a few sprinkles here and there, and that was also where I found...

The Jesus Patch

just laying in the grass...all alone.

OK, so it was really hard to get a good picture of, but you can kind of see his gold halo and green robe.

Who would throw away a perfectly good patch of the Saviour?

It's still in my wallet from last night...what does one do with a Jesus patch? It seems like you'd go to hell for throwing it away.

Or abandoning it in the grass...
